Handling geometric singularities by the mortar spectral element method. I: Case of the Laplace equation (Q1403970)

The solution of an elliptic partial differential equation in a polygon is generally not regular. It can be written as a sum of a regular and a linear combination of singular functions. In this work the numerical analysis and implementation of the Strang and Fix algorithm with mortar spectral elements is performed. The coefficient of the leading singularity is computed with high accuracy.
