The authors define a (non-isotropy kernel) generalized Riesz-potential as follows \[ E_{\alpha,\lambda}= \int_{\mathbb{R}^n} {f(\underline y)\,d\underline y\over\|\underline x-\underline y\|^{\alpha-n}_\lambda},\tag{1} \] in which \(0< \alpha< n\), \(\lambda> 0\) and \(f\) is a nonnegative Borel measurable in \(\mathbb{R}^n\). Recall that for \(\lambda= (\lambda_1,\dots, \lambda_n)\in \mathbb{R}^n_+\) the \(\lambda\)-distance between two given points \(\underline x= (x_1,\dots, x_n)\) and \(\underline y= (y_1,\dots, y_n)\) in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) is defined by \[ \|\underline x-\underline y\|_\lambda= \Biggl(\sum^n_{i=1}| x_i-y_i|^{1/\lambda_i}\Biggr)^{{|\lambda|\over n}}. \] The authors prove the following continuity-theorem for generalized potentials: Theorem. Let \(w: (0,\infty)\to (0,\infty)\) be increasing and verifies: (1) \(\int^\infty_1 w(t)^{-1/p-1} t^{-1}dt< +\infty\), \(0< p< \infty\), (2) for any \(r> 0\), there is a constant \(A> 0\) such that \(w(2r)< Aw(r)\). Then for \(p= n/\alpha\) and \(f\) such that (a) \(\int_{\mathbb{R}^n} (1+\|\underline y\|_\lambda)^{\alpha- n}f(\underline y)\,d\underline y< \infty\), (b) \(\int_{\mathbb{R}^n} f(\underline y)^p w(f(\underline y))\,d\underline y<\infty\) the generalized potential (1) is a continuous function in \(\mathbb{R}^n\).
