Given a real number \(m\geq 2\), put \[ A^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^m}):=\{f\in L^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^m});\;f \text{ is an entire function }\}. \] For \(f(z)= \sum_{k=0}^{\infty} a_kz^k \in A^2(\mathbb C, e^{-| z| ^m})\), the author defines \[ S_m(f):=\overline z\sum_{k=0}^{\infty} a_kz^k -\sum_{k=1}^{\infty}a_k\frac {c_k^2}{c^2_{k-1}}z^{k-1}, \] where \(c_k^2:=\int_{\mathbb C} | z| ^{2k}e^{-| z| ^m} d\lambda (z)\). In the first part of the paper we find the following results: \(1^0\). \(S_m:A^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^m}) \to L^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^m})\) is a continuous linear operator such that \(\overline {\partial}S_m(f)= f\) and \(S_m(f)\perp A^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^m})\), i.e. \(S_m\) represents the canonical solution operator to \(\overline {\partial}\) restricted to \(A^2(\mathbb C,e^{-| z| ^M})\). \(2^0\). The operator \(S_m\) is compact iff \(\lim_{k\to \infty} \left (\frac {c^2_{k+1}}{c^2_k }-\frac {c^2_k}{c^2_{k-1}}\right ) = 0\). \(3^0\). \(S_m\) is not Hilbert-Schmidt. \(4^0\). If \(m>2\) the operator \(S_m\) is compact. In the second part, using various methods from abstract analysis, the author discusses the case of several complex variables in a slightly different setting, and shows that the canonical solution operator to \(\overline {\partial}\) has Hilbert-Schmidt property for a wide class of weighted spaces of entire functions.
