The author provides characterizations for the functions \(z(1-z)^{-2}\) and \((1+z)(1-z)^{-2}\) similar to the characterization of \((1-z)^{-\alpha-1}\) given by \textit{F. F. Abi-Khuzam} in [Complex Var., Theory Appl. 20, 229--236 (1992; Zbl 0785.30003)]. Moreover, he claims to solve two problems posed in this paper. The counterexamples he gives are, however, not appropriate.
