The authors discuss the Wagner curvature tensor for completely nonholonomic distributions on Riemannian manifolds. They demonstrate its appearance in nonholonomic mechanics by computing for two important examples which are the particular cases of a homogeneous disc rolling without sliding on a horizontal plane and of a homogeneous ball rolling without sliding on a fixed sphere.
