Let \(n\) be a natural number and \(F\) be a field of characteristic \(p\). Let \(D^\lambda\) denote the irreducible \(FS_n\)-module corresponding to a \(p\)-regular partition \(\lambda\) of the symmetric group \(S_n\). Let sgn denote the 1-dimensional sign representation of \(S_n\). \textit{G. Mullineux} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 20, 60-66 (1979; Zbl 0401.05011)] has conjectured that \(D^\lambda\otimes\text{sgn}\cong D^{M(\lambda)}\) where \(M\) is a bijection on \(p\)-regular partitions of \(n\). This conjecture has been proved to be true, but in the article under review the authors present a completely different proof of this conjecture.
