Let \(G\) be a finite group. Using the Zassenhaus valuation of \(G\), R.~G. Larson introduced a certain Hopf order in the group algebra \(kG\). In this paper, the main goal is to define so-called Larson orders for an arbitrary Hopf algebra \(H\) over a commutative field \(k\). For this, the authors replace the valuation filtration by a more general Hopf valuation filtration relating a Hopf order to a function \(\xi\colon H\to\mathbb{R}^m_+\cup\{\infty\}\). In this way they obtain a bijective correspondence between the Hopf valuation filtrations satisfying certain conditions and the separated Hopf filtrations extending the valuation filtration corresponding to the valuation associated to the valuation ring in \(k\). Finally, several examples, e.g., for Sweedler's 4-dimensional Hopf algebra, Taft algebras. etc., are presented.
