This paper deals with homeomorphisms \(h\colon T^2\to T^2\) on the torus, which are isotopic to the identity map. Given two distinct fixed points \(x_1\) and \(x_2\) of such an \(h\), the isotopy trace of the two points \(x_1\) and \(x_2\) consists of a braid \(\sigma_C\) in \(T^2\times I\). On the other hand, by blowing up \(h\colon T^2-\{x_1, x_2\}\to T^2-\{x_1, x_2\}\), one can obtain a homeomorphism \(f\) on the torus with two holes. Under some assumptions on the behavior of \(h\) at the two fixed points, the author proves that \(\sigma_C\) will determine a reduced form of the generalized Lefschetz number of \(f\), and hence obtains some information about the other fixed points and fixed point indices of \(h\) itself.
