In this interesting survey, the authors give an extension of Theorem I.1 of the article by \textit{H. Mohebi} and \textit{M. Radjabalipour} in [Integral Equations Oper. Theory 18, 222--241 (1994; Zbl 0807.47020)]. They show that, given two operators \(T\in B(X)\) and \(S\in B(Z)\) on Banach spaces \(X\) and \(Z\) such that \(T\) is up to a similarity the restriction of \(S\) and supposing that there exist sequences \(\{G(n)\}\) of open sets and \(\{M(n)\}\) of invariant subspaces of \(S\) such that \(\overline{G(n)}\subset G(n+1)\), \(\sigma(S| M(n))\subset\mathbb C\setminus G(n)\) and \(\sigma(S/M(n))\subset \overline{G(n)}\), \(n= 1,2,\dots\), if \(\sigma(T)\setminus \sigma_p(S^{**})\) is dominating in the open set \(G= \bigcup_n G(n)\), then \(T\) has infinitely many invariant subspaces (here \(S| M(n)\) means the restriction \(S\) onto \(M(n)\) and \(S/M(n)\) means the quotient operator induced by \(S\) on the quotient space \(Z/M(n)\)). Moreover, if \(\sigma_c(T)\setminus\sigma(S^{**})\) is dominating in the open set \(G\), then the invariant subspace lattice \(\text{Lat}(T)\) for \(T\) is rich. In addition, they give an example in which the operator \(T\) has infinitely many invariant subspaces, while \(\text{Lat}(T)\) is not rich. Finally, they show that \(\text{Lat}(T)\) for a bounded linear operator \(T\) on a reflexive Banach space is reflexive-rich if and only if \(\text{Lat}(T^*)\) is reflexive-rich.
