The paper deals with quasi-linear hyperbolic differential functional equations of first order with unbounded delay. The author proposes phase spaces for the equations under consideration and proves results for existence and uniqueness of the solutions. The case of unbounded domains is also investigated. The main tools are the methods of bicharacteristics and the theory of functional integral inequalities.
