The author shows that for the Neumann problem \[ \begin{cases} -\Delta u= \alpha(x)(| u|^{q-1} u-u)+\lambda f(x,u)\quad &\text{in }\Omega,\\ {\partial u\over\partial\nu}= 0\quad &\text{on }\partial\Omega\end{cases}\tag{P\(_\lambda\)} \] there exists on open interval \(I\subset\mathbb{R}\) and a positive constant \(\rho\) such that for each \(\lambda\in I\), \((\text{P}_\lambda)\) admits at least three weak solutions in \(W^{1,2}(\Omega)\) with norms less than \(\rho\). It is assumed that \(1< q< 2\) and \(\alpha\in L^\infty(\Omega)\) but the conditions on \(f\) are too complicated to be stated here. The problem is tackled by variational method
