Properties of nonnegative solutions of the initial value problem for a weakly coupled system are considered. This problem has a unique, nonnegative bounded solution at least locally in time. The blow-up and global existence of solutions, a large time behavior of the global solution are studied. The condition of arising blow-up solution is obtained. Boundedness and blow-up solutions in the case of two systems was studied by \textit{M. Escobedo} and \textit{M. A. Herrero} [J. Differ. Equ. 89, 176--202 (1991; Zbl 0735.35013)]. \textit{K. Mochizuki} [Adv. Math. Appl. Sci. 48, 175--198 (1998; Zbl 0932.35028)] investigated the existence and large time behavior of global solution in the case of two systems. The condition which divides the blow-up and global existence cases is found.
