A Schrödinger-type self-adjoint operator \(L_{\lambda ,V}\) defined on an abstract Wiener space, depending on a real parameter \(\lambda \) and having \(V\) as potential function, is studied. In fact, this operator is a perturbed Hamiltonian on an abstract boson Fock space whose one-particle Hamiltonian is the identity. The semiclassical limit of the lowest eigenvalue \(E_{0}( \lambda ) \) of the operator \(L_{\lambda ,V}\) is determined. The potential is approximated by quadratic functions near minimizers and a family of approximate Schrödinger operators is obtained. Using their ground states as trial functions, the upper and lower bounds of \(E_{0}( \lambda) \) are estimated. Some examples, where tunneling phenomena can be expected, are given. Remarks on the semiclassical problem of a Schrödinger operator on a path space over Riemannian manifolds are also presented.
