The paper is concerned with time-periodic reaction-diffusion equations on bounded domains. The typical trajectories of such equations are known to approach stable periodic solutions, possibly subharmonic solutions (that is, periodic solutions whose minimal period is higher than the period of the equation). The existence of stable subharmonic solutions for parabolic equations has been established in earlier papers, given in the references. In particular, the second author and the reviewer have proved that stable subharmonic solutions exist on any spatial domain, provided the nonlinearity is chosen suitably. The present paper improves that result in that the minimal period of the equation is fixed a priori (and does not have to be rescaled).
