Collaborative planning in supply chains. A negotiation-based approach. (Q1414902)

This book presents a version of a three-year research thesis undertaken in the department of Production and Supply Chain Management of Darmstadt University of Technology. The book starts with an overview of Supply Chain Management and planning, followed with an overview of the literature. The next chapter (chapter 4) presents the main model of the research. It describes a collaborative planning scheme for a single buyer-supplier pair, where a novel negotiation-based process is developed. This process is extended in the next chapter to more complex scenarios, which allow the amount of cost information exchanged between the partners to be further reduced. The book concludes with a chapter of implications, conclusions and an extensive computational experimentation to test and evaluate the proposed approach to collaborative planning.
