The analogue of the Chebotarev distribution theorem counting the number of closed orbits in a group extension according to how they lift to the extension space, discovered by \textit{W. Parry} and \textit{M. Pollicott} [Ergodic Theory Dyn. Syst. 6, 133--148 (1986; Zbl 0626.58006)] in the hyperbolic setting is extended to the case where the base map is an ergodic toral automorphism, using earlier work of the author [Int. J. Math. Math. Sci. 2003, 1047--1053 (2003; Zbl 1016.37012)] and the author and \textit{W. Parry} [Bol. Soc. Bras. Mat., Nova Sér. 23, 137--151 (1992; Zbl 0792.58033)].
