It is well-known that complex numbers can be used to describe Euclidean trigonometry and geometry. Similarly, as done by Yaglom, the complex dual numbers and hyperbolic complex numbers can describe Galilean and Minkowskian geometries, respectively. In this paper, the authors study two-dimensional geometries and some physical consequences generated in a similar way to the situations above for the more general so-called complex-type numbers, that is, numbers of the type \(z=x+qy\), \(q\notin\mathbb{R}\), where \(q^2=A+q(2B)\), \(A,B\in\mathbb{R}\) fixed.
