In this paper the authors study evolution of the infinitesimal volume element along the trajectories in the attractor in the modified one-phase Stefan problem. They introduce the notion of a weak solution and prove that the evolution semigroup is uniformly differentiable on a dense subspace of weak solutions. Combined with the estimate for the linearized evolution of the infinitesimal volume, this leads to the conclusion that the Hausdorff dimension of the attractor is finite.
