    Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be normed spaces. \textit{G. Isac} and \textit{Th. M. Rassias} [Th. M. Rassias and J. Tabor (eds.), Stability of mappings of Hyers-Ulam type, 117--125 (1994; Zbl 0844.39015)] proved that if a mapping \(f : X \to Y\) is \(\psi\)-additive, i.e., the inequality \[ \| f(x+y) - f(x) -f(y)\| \leq \theta \big( \psi(\| x\| ) + \psi(\| y\| ) \big) \] holds for all \(x, y\in X\) and some \(\theta > 0\), then there exist a positive real number \(c\) and an additive mapping \(T : X \to Y\) such that \[ \| f(x)-T(x)\| \leq c\psi(\| x\| ) \] for all \(x \in X\). Here \(\psi : [0, \infty) \to [0, \infty)\) is a function satisfying some five conditions. The author shows that if a function \(\psi : [0, \infty) \to [0, \infty)\) satisfies \[ \begin{aligned} \psi(s t)\leq \psi(s) \psi(t), &\qquad s, t \in [0, \infty), \tag{1}\\ \psi(t)< t, &\qquad t \in (0, \infty), \tag{2} \end{aligned} \] which are two of the five conditions, then \(\psi(t) =0\) for all \(t \in [0, \infty)\). This implies that each \(\psi\)-additive mapping with \(\psi\) satisfying only (1) and (2) is additive.
