This is a nice paper. The author introduces a standard system to deal with filtration structures of finite dimensional algebras over a nonsplitting field, this includes both the quasi-hereditary structure and the cellular structure. Roughly speaking, a standard system means that an algebra \(A\) can be decomposed into a direct sum of certain vector subspaces such that each subspace is a copy of some given \(k\)-algebras, and these pieces of \(A\) satisfy certain cellular-like conditions. With this notion the author provides a new characterization of quasi-hereditary and standardly stratified algebras, respectively. For a divisible standard system, a complete set of simple modules can be displayed by considering certain linear forms produced by the system itself.
