This is the second part of the series of three papers, see the review of the first one [J. Algebra 271, No. 1, 179--233 (2004)] above. An orbital variety of a connected semisimple finite dimensional complex algebraic group \(G\) in its Lie algebra \(\mathfrak g\) under the adjoint action of \(G\) is an irreducible component of the intersection \(Gx\cap \mathfrak n\), \(x\in\mathfrak n\), where \({\mathfrak g}={\mathfrak n}\oplus{\mathfrak h}\oplus{\mathfrak n}^-\) is a triangular decomposition of \(\mathfrak g\). In \(\mathfrak{sl}_n\) the orbital varieties are described in terms of Young tableaux. In the present paper the author studies the so called Richardson orbital varieties in \(\mathfrak{sl}_n\). Such an orbital variety is defined with the property that its closure is a standard nilradical. It is shown that the closure of a Richardson orbital variety is a union of orbital varieties. The author gives a complete combinatorial description of such closures in terms of Young tableaux.
