This work deals with the existence of non-formal simply connected smooth manifolds of dimension \(\geq7\). In Section 2 an example in dimension 8 is presented, constructed from the product \(N\times\mathbb{T}^5\), a quotient manifold \(N\) of the Heisenberg group and a 5-dimensional torus. This product has a non-vanishing triple Massey product. After a surgery operation, one gets a simply connected manifold \(M\). In Section 3 it is shown how the Massey product survives from \(N\times\mathbb{T}^5\) to \(M\). Finally, in Section 4 there is an analogous construction in dimension 7. For any other dimension \(n\geq 9\) new easy examples are provided from the above cases. The proofs seem to be right, and the general arguments are well connected. The article is worth studying, though it would gain in readability by taking into account the following suggestions. In p.113, line 15, the map \(p\) should be defined before the set \(p(C_1)\) is written. Section 2 should begin with a brief comment which prepares the reader for the geometrical construction that will be explained. Sections 2 and 3 are written in such a way that the reader is forced to follow the whole argumentation in order to understand the results and statements. They would gain in readability if statements and definitions were separated from the proofs thus allowing a quick reading first.
