A point set \(S\) is called an integral set if all the distances between the points of \(S\) are integers. (For an overwiew of this topic see -- among other papers -- the article [Integral distances in point sets, Karl der Grosse und sein Nachwirken, Bd. 2, 213--224 (1998; Zbl 0956.52021)] by \textit{H. Harborth}. The author deals with minimum and maximum distances in integral sets. It is shown that any intergral set \(S\) contains many collinear points or the minimum distances should be relatively large if \(| S|\) is large.
