A pointed-group is a pair \((G,g_0)\) where \(G\) is a group and \(g_0\) is a distinguished element of \(G\). A pointed-group word is an element \(w\) in the free abstract group on \(\{x_0,x_1,\dots\}\) and we say \(w\) is a law in the pointed-group \((G,g_0)\) if \(w\) takes value equal to the identity whenever arbitrary elements of \(G\) are substituted for the variables \(x_1,x_2,\dots\) and \(g_0\) is substituted for the distinguished variable \(x_0\). A variety of pointed-groups is the class of all pointed-groups satisfying some set of pointed-group laws. The author proves that every variety of pointed-groups which are nilpotent by Abelian-of-finite-exponent is finitely based.
