The authors study the singularly perturbed boundary value problem \[ \begin{gathered} \beta\varepsilon^2{d^4\theta\over dz^4}- \mu\varepsilon{d^3\theta\over dz^3}- \varepsilon{d^2\theta\over dz^2}+ \rho\theta= \rho{d^2\over dz^2}\Biggl\{{n\over 1+\nu(1-\varepsilon\tau\rho_1 \theta}\Biggr\},\\ \varepsilon{d^2n\over dz^2}- {dn\over dz}+ n(1- n)= \varepsilon\alpha{d\over dz}\Biggl\{n{d\over dz}\Biggl({1- \varepsilon\tau\rho_1\theta\over 1+\gamma n}\Biggr)\Biggr\},\\ \lim_{z\to-\infty} (\theta, n)= (0,0),\quad \lim_{z\to\infty}(\theta, n)= (0,1).\end{gathered}\tag{\(*\)} \] By means of the geometric singular perturbation theory they give a simplified proof for the existence of a solution to \((*)\) which shows that \(0< n_\varepsilon(z)< 1\) on \((-\infty,\infty)\) and \(\theta_\varepsilon(z)\) is non-oscillatory as \(z\to\pm\infty\).
