Periodic solutions of differential equations in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) (Q1425439)

The author considers the system of autonomous differential equations in \(\mathbb{R}^d\), \(d\geq 3\): \[ \begin{gathered} x_i'= f_i(x_1,\dots, x_n),\quad f_i\in C^1(M),\quad i= 1,\dots, n,\end{gathered}\tag{1} \] where \(M\) is a simply connected region in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) containing the origin. Using the index of a vector field and a corresponding fixed-point theorem, he proves the existence of periodic solutions for (1).
