Let \(M\) be an elementary submodel of~\(H(\theta)\) for ``sufficiently large'' regular cardinal~\(\theta\). For a~topological space \(\langle X,\mathcal T\rangle\in M\) let \(X_M\) be \(X\cap M\) with topology generated by \(\{U\cap M:U\in\mathcal T\cap M\}\). The paper is a~contribution to the study of when \(X_M\)~characterizes~\(X\). Let \(D\) be the two-point discrete space. A~space is said to be a~dyadic compactum if it is a~continuous image of~\(D^\kappa\) for some~\(\kappa\). The theorem proved in the paper: Suppose \(X_M\)~is an uncountable dyadic compactum and the least cardinal~\(\kappa\) of a~basis for~\(X_M\) is a~member of~\(M\). If \(0^\sharp\) does not exist or \(\kappa\)~is less than the first inaccessible cardinal, then \(X_M=X\). This theorem can be applied to compact topological groups as they are uncountable dyadic compacta.
