In very recent years, there were many numerical studies of superconvergence for least squares, in literature. The present paper is a continuation of the investigations of the authors on the same topic. They investigate superconvergence phenomena for two simple kinds of elliptic problems using least squares mixed finite-element methods over quadrilaterals. On regular quadrilateral grids, the primary solution (scalar function) is approximated with continuous piecewise polynomial spaces and the flux solution (vector function) is approximated with standard mixed elements (Raviart-Thomas elements or Brezzi-Douglas-Fortin-Marini elements). The superconvergence result is obtained by using the \(L_2\)-projection and some mixed finite-element projections and the integral identities technique.
