Let \(Z\) be a Banach space and \((\Omega,\Sigma,\mu)\) be a \(\sigma\)-finite measure space with a measurable partition \(\{A_i:i=1,\dots\}\) and let \(\mu(A_i)=1\) for each \(i\). If \(\{z_i\}_{i=1}^{\infty}\subset Z\) is a sequence such that \(\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}z_i\) is unconditionally convergent, then \(\lambda(A):\,=\sum_{i=1}^{\infty}\mu(A\cap{A_i})z_i\) defines a \(\mu\)-continuous vector measure on \(\Sigma\). It is called a sequential measure. The authors prove that if \(I\) is an index set and \({\mathcal{U}}\) is an ultrafilter on \(I\), then \(L_1(\lambda)\) (the space of \(\lambda\)-integrable real functions) is a complemented subspace of the ultrapower \(\left(L_1(\lambda)\right)_{\mathcal {U}}\). The result is then applied to some increase properties of \(\lambda\)-integrable functions.
