The author introduces a generalized permutation, the so-called \(k\)-colored permutation on \(n\) symbols, which is a permutation where each symbol appears once and is colored by one of \(k\) distinct colors. The paper deals with the pattern avoiding problem for \(k\)-colored permutations and extends some known results for \(k=1\) and \(k=2.\)
