Let \(X\) be a bounded homogeneous domain in \(\mathbb C^n\) and \(G=\Aut(X)\) be its automorphism group. A function \(f\in C^\infty(X)\) on \(X\) is called Hua-harmonic if it is annihilated by a certain invariant family HJK of second order differential equations; \(f\) is \(G\)-harmonic if it is annihilated by the algebra \({\mathcal D}_0(X)\) of all \(G\)-invariant differential operators without constant term. For classical symmetric domains, HJK was introduced by L. K.~Hua. For example, if \(X\) is a ball, then HJK\((f)=0\) if and only if \(f\) is pluriharmonic; if \(X\) is a polydisc, then HJK\((f)=0\) if and only if \(f\) is \(G\)-harmonic (equivalently, if it is the Poisson integral of a hyperfunction on its Shilov boundary). \textit{E. Damek, A. Hulanicki}, and \textit{R. Penney} noted that HJK can be defined for all Kählerian manifolds in geometric terms [J. Funct. Anal. 151, No.~1, 77--120 (1997; Zbl 0887.43005)]. The case of Hermitian symmetric domains is now well understood (except for some boundary problems in the non-tube case). The author considers non-symmetric bounded homogeneous domains. There is a structure theory for them, due to Gindikin, \textit{I. I. Piatetski-Shapiro} and \textit{E. B. Vinberg} [Trans. Mosc. Math. Soc. 12, 404--437 (1963); translation from Tr. Mosk. Mat. O.-va 12, 359--388 (1963; Zbl 0137.05603)]. A maximal compact subgroup \(K\) of the automorphism group \(G\) of a bounded symmetric domain \(D\) acts transitively on its Shilov boundary; moreover, each \(K\)-irreducible component is contained in the space of all \(G\)-harmonic functions with finite multiplicity. This makes it possible to use the standard analytic machinery (series, etc.). For non-symmetric domains, a maximal compact group is usually small. Moreover, there is no description of the Shilov boundary (but it is known that it contains an orbit \(N\) of a two-step nilpotent Lie group as an open dense subset, called the principal open subset). Hence, the problem of generalization of the results in this area to the case of bounded homogeneous domains is highly nontrivial and requires new methods. The author uses asymptotic expansions related to the algebra \({\mathcal D}_0(X)\). This extends the technique of \textit{N. R. Wallach} [Lect. Notes Math. 1024, 287--369 (1983; Zbl 0553.22005)] and \textit{E. P. van den Ban} and \textit{H. Schlichtkrull} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 380, 108--165 (1987; Zbl 0631.58028); Invent. Math. 98, No.~3, 639--657 (1989; Zbl 0698.43007)] for real reductive groups and Riemannian symmetric spaces, respectively. The main result is proved for Hua-harmonic functions which satisfy an exponential growth condition with respect to the Riemannian distance to the base point. The coefficients of the expansion near \(N\) are Schwartz distributions on \(N\). A finite (controlled) number of them uniquely determine the solution and can be treated as boundary values. The author gives an inductive construction to find the function from them (the Poisson transformation, the inverse to the boundary map). For a description of the image of the boundary map, there are partial results, which imply the Johnson-Korányi theorem that states that in the semisimple tube case the Hua-harmonic functions are Poisson integrals of hyperfunctions over the Shilov boundary.
