Cartan's magic formula and soap film structures (Q1431373)

The author extends her chainlet geometry to develop ``dipole cells'' and ``mass cells'' to model the fact that soap films are actually two surfaces with soap solution in between. The author gives examples illustrating how soap film behavior is effectively modeled. A norm is defined and lower semicontinuity of the important functionals ``weight'', ``mass'', and ``energy'' is proved. Questions of existence and regularity are left to future work.
