The Louck polynomials \(L_{\alpha\beta}^{pq}\) of order \(m\in \mathbb{N}\) are defined for natural numbers \(p\), \(q\) and for \(\alpha= (\alpha_1,\dots, \alpha_p)\), \(\beta =(\beta_1, \dots,\beta_q)\) such that \(m=\alpha_1+ \cdots+ \alpha_p= \beta_1+ \cdots +\beta_q\). The polynomials \(L_{\alpha \beta}^{pq}\) appear as matrix elements of the representations of the group \(\text{GL} (n,\mathbb{C})\) in the space of the symmetric power \(S^m\mathbb{C}^n\). After studying the differential equations satisfied by the Louck polynomials the authors relate them to the general hypergeometric functions and the GG-functions. Due to the general results proved in the authors' paper [Dokl. Akad. Nauk 354, No. 5, 583--586 (1997; Zbl 0970.33003)] the extensions of the polynomials \(L_{\alpha \beta}^{pq}\) to complex values of the parameters \((\alpha,\beta)\) are obtained. Series expansions and integral representations of these functions follow immediately. The last part of the paper is dedicated to the construction and study of functions analogous to the Louck polynomials. They appear as matrix elements of representations of \(\text{GL}(n, \mathbb{C})\) in the space \(P\mathbb{C}^n\) instead of \(S^m\mathbb{C}^n\), where \(P\) denotes the Young symmetrizer associated to an arbitrary Young tableau.
