Let \(\mathfrak{B}_{1}\) and \(\mathfrak{B}_{2}\) be two complex Banach spaces of positive dimensions, and let \(\mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{i},\mathfrak{B}_{j})\) be the space of all linear bounded mappings acting from \(\mathfrak{B}_{i}\) into \(\mathfrak{B}_{j}\), \(i,j=1,2\). Let also \(F=F_{A}\) be a linear fractional mapping of the following form: \[ F_{A}(K)=(A_{21}+A_{22}K)(A_{11}+A_{12}K)^{-1}, \] where \(K\in \mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{1},\mathfrak{B}_{2})\) and \(A_{ij}\in\mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{j},\mathfrak{B}_{i}),\;i,j=1,2.\) Linear fractional mappings \(F:\,M\to\mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{1},\mathfrak{B}_{2}),\) where \(M=M_{F}\) is an open subset of \(\mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{1},\mathfrak{B}_{2})\) depending on \(F\), are studied in the present paper. The obtained results are used for the construction of solutions to functional equations. Namely, the Abel--Schröder equations \[ f\circ \varphi =\psi \circ f \] are considered, where \(\varphi \) and \(\psi \) are given, and \(f\) is an unknown mapping of some subsets of the unit ball \(K\subset\mathcal{N}(\mathfrak{B}_{1},\mathfrak{B}_{2}).\) Under natural assumptions on the paces \(\mathfrak{B}_{1}\) and \(\mathfrak{B}_{2}\) and on the mappings \(\varphi \) and \(\psi\), solutions of the Abel--Schröder equations are obtained. The formulas found for the solutions have a wider scope than the known ones, even in the case of a finite-dimensional (indefinite) Kreĭn space.
