Let \(p\in (1, +\infty)\). Consider the Hardy-type inequality \[ \int^{b}_{a} \Bigl(\int^{x}_{a} f (t) \,dt\Bigr)^{p} w (x) \,dx \leq C \int^{b}_{a} f^{p} (x) v(x) \,dx \tag{1} \] on the class of all non-negative and measurable functions \(f\) on \((a, b), -\infty \leq a < b \leq +\infty\). If \(s \in (1, +\infty)\), put \(s = s/(s - 1).\) The classical Hardy inequality states that \((1)\) holds with \((a, b) = (0, +\infty), w (x) \equiv x^{-p}, v (x) \equiv 1\) and \(C = (p')^p\). The aim of the paper is to prove some slight modifications of the classical Hardy inequality. To illustrate the results of the paper, we mention one of them (Theorem~3.2~(i)): The inequality (1) holds if \(a=0\), \(b \in (0, +\infty)\), \(w (x) \equiv x^{-s}\), \(s\geq p >1\), \( v(x) \equiv [1 - (x/b)^{s - p + r'/q}] x^{p-s}\) and \[ C=\Bigl(\frac{p (p - 1)}{(p + q)(p - 1) - p}\Bigr)^{p - 1} \frac {(q/r')^p}{(s - p) q/r' + 1}. \]
