The principal goal of this paper is to study families of determinantal differential operators known as {Sekiguchi operators}. These describe in principal an integrable quantum mechanical system and it is known how they can be diagonalised. These operators lead to a family of operators \(Q_z\) with a covariance property under the action of the symetric group on the ambient space and which commutes with the Sekiguchi operators. The eigenvalues of this operator, the {Jack polynomials} also satisfy an ordinary differential equation, the {Baxter} or {separation} equation. The purpose of these operators is a separation of variables and this is realised by demonstrating in this case that a certain further integral operator factorises the Jack polynomials into products of hypergeometric polynomials of one variable. Moreover the authors derive an integral formula for these polynomials due to A. Okounov and G. Ohlshanski. The proofs are based on the study of various integral operators and some ingenious transformations.
