    Let \((\Omega, {\mathcal A}, \nu)\) be a positive measure space and \(\varphi. = (\varphi_n)_{n \in \mathbb N}\) be a sequence in \(L_2(\nu)\) with \(\| \varphi_n \| > 1\) for each \(n\). Denote by \(L(X,Y)\) the space of all linear bounded operators acting from a Banach space \(X\) to a Banach space \(Y\) and by \(B(X)\) the closed unit ball of \(X\). For each \(T \in L(X,Y)\) and each \(n \in \mathbb N\), denote by \(\| T\| _{n,\varphi.}\) the least constant \(c \geq 0\) such that for any \(x_1, \dots, x_n \in X\) the following inequality holds \[ \Bigl( \int\limits_{\Omega} \Bigl\| \sum\limits_{k=1}^n T x_k \varphi_k(\omega) \Bigr\| ^2 d \nu(\omega) \Bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}} \leq c \sup\limits_{x^* \in B(X^*)} \Bigl( \sum\limits_{k=1}^n | x^*(x_k)| ^2 \Bigr)^{\frac{1}{2}}. \] An operator \(T \in L(X,Y)\) is called \(\varphi.\)-summing if \(\| T\| _{\varphi.} = \sup_n \| T\| _{n,\varphi.} < \infty\). Denote by \(\Pi_{\varphi.}(X,Y)\) the set of all \(\varphi.\)-summing operators from \(L(X,Y)\). In the partial case when \(\varphi. = g. = (g_n)_{n \in \mathbb N}\) is the sequence of standard independent Gaussian random variables on \((\Omega, {\mathcal A}, \nu)\), one obtains the class \(\Pi_{g.}(X,Y)\) of the so-called Gaussian-summing operators. One of the main results (Theorem 3.1) asserts that if \(\| \varphi_n\| = 1\) for each \(n \in \mathbb N\), then for each \(T \in \Pi_{\varphi.}(X,Y)\) we have \(\| T\| _{g.} \leq \| T\| _{\varphi.}\) and hence \(\Pi_{\varphi.}(X,Y) \subseteq \Pi_{g.}(X,Y)\).
