Heat transfer in porous medium is an area rich in practical applications. This paper deals with the discrete conduction model method for transient, 3-D calculations, and to utilize the model to investigate the effects of packing structures on the effective thermal conductivity. The resulting model is validated and then benchmarked for performance and accuracy.
