Summary: The object of this paper is to construct (by a limiting process) the derived directions of a vector defined along a curve in Riemannian space. A simple constructive process for the \(N-1\) principal normals to such a vector is also given, from which the Frenet formulae follow immediately. Expressions for the curvatures in terms of the rates of turning of the vector and normals are also given.
