Es sei \(a_\nu, b_\nu > 0\) und \[ \frac {A_{n, \lambda}}{B_{n,\lambda}} \] der \(n\)-te Näherungsbruch von \[ K_\lambda =b_\lambda + \frac{a_{\lambda +1}\mid}{\mid b_{\lambda +1}} +\cdots. \] Als Verallgemeinerung eines bekannten Satzes (O. Perron, Die Lehre von den Kettenbrüchen S. 240) wird bewiesen: Der Kettenbruch \(K_0\) konvergiert gewiß, wenn für mindestens ein Wertepaar \(\lambda,p(\lambda,p = 0,1, 2, \dots)\) die Reihe \[ \sum_{\nu =2p +1}^\infty \frac{A_{2\lambda +2p, \nu +1- 2p}}{B_{2\lambda, \nu +1}} \frac {1}{a_{\nu +1-2p}a_{\nu +2- 2p}\cdots a_{\nu +1}} \frac{B^\nu}{B_{\nu-2p-1}} \] divergiert.
