Der Verf. hat Phil. Trans. (A) 201, 157, 1902 untersucht, ob ein Planet, der aus konzentrischen Kugelschalen besteht, stabil sein kann. Im Anschluß\ an eine Arbeit von \textit{Lord Rayleigh} (Lond. R. S. Proc. (A) 77, 486, 1906) wird jetzt gezeigt, daß\ ein radialsymmetrischer Aufbau stabil ist und niemals instabil werden kann durch erste harmonische Verschiebungen.
