Die Abweichung des Lotes durch die Gezeitenwirkung ist schon mehrfach untersucht worden (zuerst von \textit{Darwin}, Sc. P. 1, S. 444). Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt einige bisher nicht beachtete Korrektionen. Die erste wird verursacht durch die horizontale Komponente der Kraft, welche von der Deformation der Erdoberfläche und der geänderten Massenverteilung herrührt. Die zweite entsteht durch den Einfluß\ der Schwere auf die Deformation.
