Eine schier endlose Anzahl von Formeln des Typus \[ \sum^\infty_2\;\frac{n^2-1}{n^4+n^2+1}=1,\quad \sum^\infty_{1}\;\frac{n}{4n^2+1}=\tfrac14,\quad \sum^\infty_{2}\;\frac{n}{9n^4-3n^2+1}=\frac{1}{12},\cdots \] wird hergeleitet -- mit gleichen oder alternierenden Vorzeichen, mit den mannigfachsten Koeffizienten und Exponenten in Zähler und Nenner. Setzt man \[ S_n = 1+\frac{1}{2^n} + \frac{1}{3^n}+\cdots \text{und } S_n' = S_n - 1, \] so ergeben sich aus diesen Formeln weitere von dem Typ \[ S_4'+S_{10}'+S_{16}'+\cdots =\frac{1}{12}\,, \] und ähnliche, bei denen nur die ungeraden ganzen Zahlen in den Nennern auftreten, mit gleichen oder alternierenden Vorzeichen usw.
