(Siehe JFM 42.0396.02) Es wird folgende Lösung der Telegraphengleichung \(\frac{\partial^2u}{\partial x^2}-\frac{\partial^2u}{\partial y^2}+u=0\), die auch als System \(\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}+u=\frac{\partial v}{\partial x},\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}= \frac{\partial v}{\partial y}-v\) geschrieben werden kann, gesucht: Für \(x=0,y\geqq0\) soll \[ a_0u+a_1\frac{\partial u}{\partial y}+\cdots+a_n\frac{\partial^nu}{\partial y^n}+b_0v+b_1\frac{\partial v}{\partial y}+\cdots+b_m\frac{\partial^my}{ \partial y^m}=\psi(y) \] sein, und für \(y=0,x\geqq0\) soll \(u=f(x),\frac{\partial u}{\partial x}=g(x)\) werden. Verf. bedient sich der \textit{Riemann}schen Methode und wird zu einer \textit{Volterra}schen Integral-Differentialgleichung geführt.
