Die Parallaxe einer dichten physikalischen Gruppe von Sternen läßt sich schnell mit großer Genauigkeit bestimmen, da auf einer einzigen photographischen Platte eine Anzahl von Sternen der Gruppe vorkommen wird. Dieser Umstand ist zur Bestimmung der Parallaxe der Hyaden benutzt worden. Das Resultat stimmt mit dem von \textit{Boss} aus ganz anderen Daten (Konvergenzpunkt und radialer Geschwindigkeit der Gruppe) abgeleiteten sehr nahe überein.
