Die bekannte Form des \textit{Taylor}schen Satzes \[ \varPhi(x) = \varPhi (a) + (x - a) \varPhi '(a) + (x - a)^2 \varPhi '' (a)+\cdots \] wird mit der \(q\)-Form (vgl. das vorstehende Referat (JFM 39.0353.01)) verglichen: \[ \begin{multlined} \varPhi(x) = \varPhi (a) + (x - a) \varDelta\varPhi (a) + (x - a)(x-aq)\;\frac{\varDelta^2 \varPhi (a)}{[2]!} + \cdots \\ + (x-a)(x-aq) \dots (x-aq^{n-1}) \frac {\varDelta^n \varPhi (a)}{[n]!}+\cdots , \end{multlined} \] wo \(\varDelta\) den Differentialoperator (vgl. vorstehend) \[ \frac 1x \left[ x\;\frac d{dx} \right] = \frac 1x\;\frac{q^{x(d/dx)} -1}{q-1} \] bezeichnet.
