Die erste Arbeit gibt nur einen durch Modelle erläuterten Vortrag wieder, der in theoretischer Beziehung nichts Neues bietet; die zweite erläutert die verschiedenen Schattenformen, die ein senkrecht zur optischen Achse gerichteter Draht an verschiedenen Stellen der optischen Achse in einem astigmatischen Strahlenbüschel wirft, und erläutert sie durch Abbildungen, die zum Teil ganz abenteuerlich aussehende Kurven zeigen.
