Mit Hülfe einiger Formeln von \textit{Gauß} über die hypergeometrische Reihe und die Gammafunktion werden unendliche Produkte und Reihenentwicklungen für \(\pi\) aufgestellt, z. B.: \[ \pi = \lim_{n=\infty}\;\frac {2^{4n+1}}{2n +1} \left[ \frac {(n!)^2}{2n!} \right]^2, \] \[ \frac {\pi}2 = 1 + \frac 13 + \frac {1\cdot 2}{3\cdot 5} + \frac {1\cdot 2 \cdot 3}{3\cdot 5\cdot 7} + \cdots . \]
