Ein auf eine Fläche \(f(x,y,z)=O\) bezügliches Doppelintegral \(\iint R(x,y,z)dx\,dy\) heisst von der zweiten Art, wenn man für jeden Punkt der Fläche zwei rationale Functionen \(U\), \(V\) von \(x\), \(y\), \(z\) von der Art angeben kann, dass \[ \iint\left[R(x,y,z)-\frac{\partial U}{\partial x}-\frac{\partial V}{\partial y}\right]dx\,dy \] in der Umgebung dieses Punktes endlich bleibt.
