Die Weierstrass'sche Methode für die Productentwickelung analytischer Functionen wird hier auf die Function \(\varTheta\) angewandt, aber insofern modificirt, als die Nullwerte nicht nach wachsenden Moduln geordnet werden, sondern nach den wachsenden Werten des einen Parameters, während der andere als constant angenommen wird, worauf alsdann die so erhaltenen Functionen nach wachsenden Werten des zweiten Parameters gruppirt werden. Indem man also in der Doppelsumme \[ \sum^{+\infty}_{n=-\infty}\sum^{+\infty}_{m=-\infty}\frac1{x-(2m+1)K-(2n+1) K'i} \] mit den Parametern \(2m+1\) und \(2n+1\) verfährt, erhält man \[ \varTheta_1(x)=P\prod^{\infty}_{n=0}(1+q^{2n+1}e^{\frac{\pi xi}{K}})(1+q^{ 2n+1}e^{-\frac{\pi xi}{K}}), \] wo \(P=\prod^{\infty}_{n=0}(1-q^{2(n+1)})\), ebenso \(H_1\) und daraus die Entwickelungen von \(\varTheta\) und \(H\).
